The Thrill of the Hunt

I have been on the search for the perfect foundation for a long time. I had pretty much given up, and was settling for good enough because I thought that was the best I could do. Well, this past month I decided that I wasn't going to settle anymore, so I went on the prowl for my perfect shade. First, I tried Aromaleigh's mineral foundation line, which was a no go. Then I went to MAC. I had been using their studio fix pressed powder in NC15 for a little while, and it was really cakey so I decided to give the liquid foundation a try.

I am very fair, and even their lightest shade was at least one, maybe two shades too dark on me. And it was YELLOW. Really yellow. So I took advantage of MAC's great return policy and hiked over to Sephora to give their products a try. And after trying about five different foundations....I found it!
I am now the deliriously happy owner of NARS' Sheer Glow Foundation in "Siberia". It blends like a dream! I have a weird combination of peach and yellowish tones to my skin, and this shade is perfect. The foundation comes in a matte formula too if you need a little more coverage, but if you have super pale skin like I do, I would definitely recommend giving the NARS shades a go.

First Tutorial!

I'm so excited! This is my first ever attempt at a video tutorial, vlog, anything. It's grainy, jumpy and I said "um" way too many times, but I'm really happy with it. I learned a lot and I can't wait to do better on the next one. So here is my smokey everyday look, I hope you like it!

Oh, and you can also watch the video on my youtube channel here!

LOTD 2.2.10

Hey everyone! Well, this is my first look of the day. I hope you all will bear with me while I figure out camera angles and lighting, so I have to warn you all that these are not the best pictures. This is one of my favorite looks and I usually apply most of my eyeshadow using the same techniques that I've used today. As always, start off with a clean, moisturized face. Yes, I do look like an alien in the morning since I have dyed black hair and light blonde eyebrows ^_^

I haven't decided if I want to string out a long step-by-step list of everything I've done to create the look, or just give you the pictures and a list of the products I've used and let you have at it. I think I'll start off doing that, and if you have any questions on how to recreate the look I'll be happy to answer them! So here is the finished look.

With a close-up of the eyes...

Here's a list of all the products I've used for this look. You definitely do not need all of these products to create a great look, just use the colors and tools you have to create your own interpretation. I hope y'all have a beautiful day!
